24 Jun Poetic Objects
Jaydon Moore at Design Miami |
One of my highlights at this year´s Design Miami at Art Basel was American artist Jaydon Moore.
His work is motivated by the search of hidden values in objects of daily use. With more and more mass-produced things in our lifes, memory and values transported throug heirlooms become more important and relevant again. The worth of an object is not only mesured by the value of it´s materials, but by it´s patina and wear, representing different layers of memory.
For Jaydon the past still lives in an object – „nothing is lost, only given a new history“. He deconstructs, reassembles and alters silver tableware into new images. His pieces are poetic forms, addressing the meaning and value of memories. …
