Vintage icons and contemporary design highlights set in a spectacular ex-industrial space // For this years Salone del Mobile Nina Yashar, founder of one of Italy’s most wonderful collectable design galleries, Nilufar, transformed her furniture storage in a giant showroom. The dramatic structure, designed like an over-proportioned doll’s house, features open interconnected rooms, accessible by steel staircases and framed by enormous velvet curtains. The regularity of the booth like rooms are the perfect backdrop for Yashars eclectic collection of mid-century gems and stunning contemporary design. Each room is curated with a well balanced mix of iconic vintage pieces from Gio Ponti, Angelo Mangiarotti, Gaetano Pesce, Piero Fornasetti, Franco Albini and contemporary design objects by Lindsey Adelman, Michael Anastassiades, Pierre Marie Agin, Michele Balestra, Bethan Laura Wood, Massimiliano Locatelli, India Mahdavi, etc. etc. The depot is prone to become another institution in Milan’s flourishing design world. ...
