Things and places that I am passionate about and inspire me…

Now that many fig trees in and around Zurich are bursting with the delicious fruits, I am obsessed with all things fig. Fig branches in vases, fig perfume and scented candles from Diptyque. I am planning to grow my own little fig tree at home and hope it will survive long enough to bring some color to the grey winter days in Switzerland...

Scandinavian interior styling at its best! A book by two of my favorite Swedish stylists /photographers. Colourful is a book on ten years of collaboration between photographer Pia Ulin and interior stylist Lotta Agaton. Their work has been influencial in defining the clean interior design aesthetic known as “Scandinavian”. ...

I am back to Zurich. After a magnificent vacation sailing the Greek islands, I am still inspired by natural tones and materials and ready to start new exciting interior design projects. ...

A Balearic interior architecture inspiration: It is still vacation season here in Zurich and here is another beautiful hospitality project - Los Enamordos in Ibiza. The place sparks an unpretentious and relaxed bohemian vibe. The captivating interior and exterior spaces live of a mix of materials, textures and jewel-toned colours paired with unique design pieces. Muy bonito! ...

Flos just launched a small version of the iconic Taccia lamp designed by Achille & Pier Giacomo Castiglioni in 1962. A classic of postmodern design, Taccia unites industrial aesthetics with a classic design language, modelling the base after the shaft of a classical column and the top after an upside-down pendant lamp. The concave reflector can be adjusted, creating a beautiful atmospheric light on the interiors around it. ...

Some inspirations from an interior design concept I did for a restaurant in Leipzig. The restaurant is situated in an old factory building and the design will be simple, industrial, but with a warm atmosphere… ...

I am off to some sun, sea and summer happiness. The blog will be quiet for a while, but please stay tuned for fresh interior, design, architecture and styling inspirations as soon as I back in Zurich...

During my trip to Paris last week a stumbled across the new restaurant at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs. The Lou-Lou, designed by Joseph Dirand, elegantly combines decorative elements from the past with modernistic furnishings. Très chic! ...

Bohemian style interior - exterior lounging. With summer in full glory here in Zurich, interior and exterior spaces are merging togehter again. Let´s pull out our widley patterned rugs and cosy pillows and create a bohemian style lounge. I love the idea of scattering colorful rugs across the lawn, gathering around a big table and enjoying a picnic style dinner. ...

Happy International Yoga Day! In Yoga, as in life, it’s all about balance. The same is true for interior architecture. In my work as interior designer it is all about creating the right balance - between light and dark, smooth and rough, soft and hard, modern and antique, open and closed,...

The home of the Stockholm based interior designer and blogger Hanna Wessmann is quintessential Scandinavian – clean lines and muted tones. The incredibly restrained palette isn’t just very elegant, it also acts as a blank canvas fort he carefully selected pieces of furniture and works of art. ...

During this years Salone del Mobile, Italian fashion brand Marni presented a new home furnishing accessories range: chairs, chaise longues and rocking chairs alongside numerous small tables, lamps and vases made of metal, wood and hand-woven PVC cord in brilliant colour combinations. The items have all been made in Colombia by a group of women who have gained independence through work. Marni Ballhaus and a colourful choreography of Cumbia with traditional full circular skirts, inspired by the culture of Colombia, set the backdrop for the presentation. ...

The combination restaurant and flower shop never fails to delight me. When it comes in form of a simple and modern interior design with pure materials and moody colour atmosphere it is unbeatable. When in Milan, make sure to check out newly opened Potafiori. And if you feel like more flowers and amazing food, I highly recommend Fioraio Bianchi Caffè! ...

French Bistro meets Scandinavian minimalism. The design of Usine puts a new twist on industrial interior style and is another great project in the Stockholm restaurant scene. Designed by Richard Lindvall, Usine functions as a bistro, bar, café, take-away as well as a gallery space. ...

Sun-kissed interior design // Perched atop a steep cliff on the island of Ibiza, this beautiful house by Paris based Laplace & Co glows from within. The interior filled with mid-century pieces opens seemlessly to the surrounding, breathing and reflecting the brightness of the summer sun...

Belgian architect Vincent Van Duysen has created a cast-concrete lamp for Italian brand Flos. I love the raw, brutalist material and form and could see it as a perfect juxtaposition in an otherwise very refined environment. ...
