Things and places that I am passionate about and inspire me…

One of my favorites - as every year - at the Milan Furniture Fair: Dimore Studio ...

I just returned form the Salone del Mobile in Milan. One of the most inspiring space I visited was the newly opened Fondazione Prada, designed by architecture firm OMA. The new venue is the result of the transformation of a distillery dating back to the 1910’s and houses several exhibition areas and performance spaces. Definitely a must when you are in Milan! ...

Some more pictures of the beautiful project of Marcante-Testa. Designer: Andrea Marcante (founder of UdA architetti) and Adelaide Testa Collaborators: Eirini Giannakopoulou, Giada Mazzero Photographer: Karel Balas ...

Che bello! This is another jaw-dropping renovation of a Parisian residential space. The cutting-edge design by Marcante-Testa highlights, rather than conceals the original character of the 1930s property. The designers re-functionalized the apartment, while minimizing the number of walls. A rack system made of metal sections and perforated sheet metal is set freely into the space. The new structures are designed for seeing, but not for being seen, separating transition zones from rest and private areas, thus creating separate premises for each member of the household. The movable elements are placed alongside characteristic decorative features of French homes, such as wall stuccos and cornices. I love also love the muted, but distinct color scheme - not to speak of the furniture! Part 2 will follow soon… Designer: Andrea Marcante (founder of UdA architetti) and Adelaide Testa Collaborators: Eirini Giannakopoulou, Giada Mazzero Photographer: Karel Balas ...

Italian-born fashion editor Giovanna Battaglia merges Italian style with Scandinavian interior design aesthetics in her Stockholm home. The outcome is an elegant and harmonious mix of mid-century furniture from Hans Wegner, Pierre Jeanneret and Charlotte Perriand, paired with classic design elements and unique art and design objects. I especially love the setting of the Prouvé daybed in the sitting room and the mirrored master bathroom with the free-standing bathtub. Images via Architectural Digest. ...

We love that Aesop always surprises us with unique and location-specific stores. The Shibuya shop is a beautiful combinations of reused timber, sisal, mirrors, dark steel and hues of pastel pinks, grey and bright orange. Well done Torafu Architects. ...

I think I need some moonlight in my hallway - like the Moonlight mirror and wall lamp designed by Nata Janberidze and Keti Toloraia of Rooms. ...

I have seen pictures of Ilse Crawfords London home many times and they never fail to catch my eye. The apartment, one large single space divided cleverly in different living zones, is for sale now...

Inspired by this Instagram picture with two old favourites: The uber-cool Camaleonda sofa by Mario Bellini next to a beautiful fiddle-leaf fig tree ...

Dark colours can bring a new quality to north facing rooms. The natural light from the north is harsher and tends to bring out the cooler tone. Therefore it is quite difficult to create a room that has an inviting feeling of light and atmosphere. A great way to create cosy rooms is to embrace the darkness and set dramatic effects. Dark walls and interiors paired with well placed artificial light can create a sense of intimacy and bring some drama to otherwise neglected rooms. ...

Italian born architect Lina Bo Bardi has been merging European modernism and influences of her adopted country Brazil throughout her designs - simple lines, geometric forms and a pop of color. Bardi’s 1950s designed Bowl Chair combines those elements with industrialized fabrication and flexibility in the human interaction. It questions the upright way people were supposed to sit by encouraging free movement and more relaxed postures. Images Borrowed From Studio Pepe & Arper ...

Designed in 1971 and still up to date: Achille Castiglioni and Pio Manzu's Parentesi lamp. ...

Minimalistic grey interios in a renovated Toulouse townhouse by RMGB. ...

Designed by Gerrit Rietveld for Cassina. ...

Cosy mountain home. Some moodboards I did for a recent chalet project in the Swiss alps. The atmosphere is rustic and comfy, featuring local materials and traditional pieces mixed with modern elements. The color scheme is soft and muted, creating rooms with an inviting and authentic feel. A place for gathering around a big wooden table and enjoying slow mountain living...
